Bullet proof vests

bullet proof vest information

Bullet proof vests from Protection Group Danmark

All our body armor is manufactured by the best bullet proof materials in the world. We only use proven materials from the world's leading manufacturers such as Dyneema from DSM, Kevlar from Dupont, Twaron from Teijin and Gold Flex from Honeywell. This allows us to deliver a bullet proof vest that will stop the latest and most advanced ballistic threats.

Depending on the protection level that the bulletproof vest has to stop, we use different aramid and UHMWPE solutions:

  • UHMWPE (Dyneema, Spectra) and Aramid (Twaron, Kevlar, Artec etc.) have different properties when it comes to withstand different types of ammunition, and if the body armor needs to stop knives, spikes and hypodermic needles.
  • Our bullet proof and bullet- and stab proof vests are all made in soft materials that will adapt to your body. This gives you a very comfortable vest.

At the same time, we have several different types of aramid and UHMWPE. Depending on what type the bulletproof vest is made of, this will have an impact on the weight, flexibility and thickness of the panel. We always go for the best solution for you as a customer, so you get the best possible bullet proof vest at a reasonable price, without compromising on the quality.

Tested according to the most advanced ballistic standards

All our bullet proof solutions are as a minimum tested according to the international standard NIJ (National Institute of Justice) on recognized laboratories as TNO in the Netherlands and HP. White in the United States.

NIJ standard 0101.06 comes in 3 different threat levels, where all our bullet proof vests mainly are level 3a. This means that our body armor will stop all the threats below:

  • NIJ Level IIA stops 9mm FMJ RN, 8.0 g (124 gr) with a velocity of 373 m / s + -9.1 m / s and .40 S&W FMJ, 11.8g (180 gr) with a velocity of 352 m / s + - 9.1 m / s
  • NIJ Level II stops 9mm FMJ RN, 8.0 g (124 gr) with a velocity of 398 m / s + - 9.1 m / s & .357 Magnum JSP, 10.2 g (158 gr) with a velocity of 436 m / s + - 9.1 m / s.
  • NIJ level IIIA stops .357 SIG FMJ FN, 8.1 g (125 gr) with a velocity of 448 m / s + - 9.1 m / s. & .44 Magnum SJHP, 15.6 g (240 gr) with a velocity of 436 m / s + - 9.1 m / s.

A bullet proof vest is not stab proof!

This is a mistake that many make. It is very important when buying a bullet proof vest that you decide whether it only should be bullet proof or bullet- and stab proof. Bullet proof vests are often more soft and flexible than a bullet and stab proof vests. If the vest is stab proof it has to be tested against this threat, where these are the most commonly used standards for testing stab proof vests. The HOSDB and NIJ standard are very similar:

  • The British HODSB CAST standard; The knife threat is named KR (against knifes) and the spike threat is named SP (against syle). KR1,2 and 3 & SP1,2 and 3 where level 3 is the highest level.
  • The US NIJ 0115.00 standard; NIJ Level 1,2 and 3 against edged blades (knives) and spikes.

Our bullet proof vests is tested in accordance with NIJ 115.00, and each product it will state how many joules from a knife it can stop.
